OBITUARY Kenneth Patrick Burns May 7, 1950 – January 6, 2019 Play Tribute Movie LINCOLN – Kenneth Patrick Burns, 68, was born on May 7, 1950 to Monteene and Vernon Burns, Sr., in Pell City, Alabama. Kenneth entered eternal rest on January 6, 2019. Kenneth was a friend to all that knew him.

He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He was most proud of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchild. Kenneth was a graduate of Pell City High School and Jacksonville State University.

He retired from the federal government after 28 years, of service as a security specialist, where he received many honors and special recognitions for his service. He was a member of Lincoln Methodist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Vernon & Monteene Burns and special fishing buddy, Virgie Herring.

Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, January 9 at 2:00 p.m. at New Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 8 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. He is survived by the mother of his children, Carol Herring; son, Alan (Kim) Burns; daughters, Jennifer (John) Bryant, Leigh Ann Burns (Rick) Abbott; grandchildren, Jacob Burns, Jena Burns, Lynleigh Bryant, Cohen Abbott, Anna Kate Abbott, Braden Abbott, Drew Smith, Dylan Smith; great-grandchild, Kaiden Smith; brother, Vernon “Sunny” (Sharon) Burns, Jr.; special friends, Charlie & Carol Compton.
