Obituary for Kenneth Ray Smith Kenneth Ray Smith of South Lake Tahoe left this world peacefully Jan. 16, 2016 surrounded by his children. Kenny was born Aug.

25, 1938. He was born in Hamlin, Texas. He grew up in Compton, California.

He relocated to South Lake Tahoe in 1959, where he met his first wife, Marguerite. They had three daughters. In 1971, Kenny met and married Bobbi Anderson.

They had one son and one daughter. He worked for his father at Castle Carpets and later opened his own business, Kenny’s Carpets. He was is the carpet business until he retired in 1998.

Kenny was a member of the South Lake Tahoe Moose Lodge, The American Legion and a longtime Clamper. With his passing, he leaves behind five children Sally, Hedy, Genie, Crystal and JD; eleven grandchildren, Emily, Danny Joe, Jesse, Kate, Michael, Jade, Steven, Christopher, Cameron, Jessi and Nikki; and 10 great grandchildren, Olivia, Avery, Sierra, Sage, Mariah, Devan, Donovan, Alexus, Adrian, Michael, AJ and Nova; three nephews and one niece, Tyrone, Tommy, Ronnie and Kathleen. Kenneth Ray Smith was preceeded in death by his parents JD and Ruth Smith and his brother David Smith.

A Celebration of Life potluck will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2016 at 5 p.m. at the South Lake Tahoe Moose Lodge (632 Eloise Ave. , South Lake Tahoe).
