Obituary for Kenneth Wayne Ramsay Kenneth Wayne Ramsay Born December 25th 1944 passed away at home April 11, 2018. Ken is survived by his wife Suzanne Ramsay, children: Kevin Ramsay and Wife Andra of Brighton, CO, Kellie Sincavage and husband Ed of Wellington, CO, and Kimberley Ramsay of Windsor, CO. 6 grandchildren Kelcee Lastinger and Husband Noah of Niles, Michigan, Kurtis Ramsay and wife Chelsea of Eugene, Oregon, Shaylee Long and Husband Tannar of Brighton, Ashleigh Scholten and Husband Andrew of Windsor, Skyler Score of Windsor, and Kyle Sincavage of Wellington; and 5 great grandchildren (in birth order): Lyndzee Lastinger, Carson Long, Aubree Lastinger, Weston Long, and Boy Baby Long (due in July).

Ken was preceded in death by his parents Willard Ramsay and Esther Ramsay of Ft. Collins CO Ken was a well-known and respected man among Larimer and Weld County for his many talents as a husband, father, leader, mentor, trainer, and speaker. He was born on December 25, 1944 in Cheyenne, Wyoming and raised on a ranch north of Fort Collins, CO.

He graduated from Cache’ La Poudre High School in Laporte CO in 1963 and then graduated from Trinidad Junior College with an associate’s degree in Electronic Engineering in 1965. Ken married Joyce Anne Lindsey of LaPorte Co in July of 1963. They then settled in North Ft.

Collins and had three children. Kevin, Kellie and Kimberley. Ken and Joyce divorced in 1997 and Ken married his current wife Suzanne Hennig on March 29th 1997.

Ken worked at Woodward Governor for 35 years, followed by 10 years of service at General Electric, retiring with accolades of leadership and published works after 45 years of total service in the manufacturing industry. Ken was the lead instructor in the customer training department for seven years and traveled extensively for Woodward as International Training Manager providing classes in power generation for customers located around the world. For the last 18 years, Ken actively served on the Weld County Sheriff’s Posse’ and held the Office of Mounted Team Leader for a total of 8 years.

He also served on the Colorado State Posse Association for 16 years and held the Office of Colonel for 2 years. Ken was held in high regard by his fellow Posse’ members and earned the Posse member of the year in 2005. On April 8, 2018, in the final week of his life, Ken was honored with a ceremony of service and presented with a plaque by both the Colorado State Sheriff’s Posse and the Weld County Sheriff’s Posse thanking him for his valuable contributions, his dedicated leadership, and the integral role he played in the organizations’ successes.

The smile that Ken shared while receiving his award was his very last full smile…we will always remember this ceremony and honor. Ken had several hobbies all of which included coaching and teaching his children about life, sports, and an appreciation for the great outdoors. He was the founding member, coach, and President for the Poudre Wrestling Club from 1979 to 1984.

Ken enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing, camping, woodworking, and even horseshoe pitching. Ken spent a great deal of time with his wife Sue, his children, and great grandchildren on their family ranch teaching them how to appreciate God’s beautiful gift of the mountains and God’s creatures. The memories created at Big Meadow Ranch with Ken will be treasured by anyone whoever spent time with him in the mountains.

Ken made an impact in many people’s lives, was always there to lend a hand, give advice or volunteer his time. You could always rely on Ken. Ken spent his lifetime EXTENDING HIS HAND and it put that special grin on his face and.
