Mr. Kensley Lee Smith, age 55, of Lake Butler, Florida, passed away on May 16, 2019, at home with his family by his side. Ken was born on March 1, 1964 in Covington, KY, to the late Kinsley Smith and Margaret Whittle Collins. When he was in the 4th grade, his family relocated to Union County and Ken would remain there his entire life.

He worked in the construction industry and enjoyed his job. He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved fishing. He also enjoyed landscaping, gardening, and photography.

Ken was preceded in death by his father. Ken is survived by his wife, Judy Smith of Lake Butler, FL; his children, Kensley Smith and Kaitlyn Smith both of Tarboro, NC; his mother, Margaret Collins of Lake Butler, FL; sister, Catherine Murphy of Pinetta, FL; step children, Chad Steagall of Lake Butler, FL, Brandy and Brandon McCoy of Lake Butler, FL, Stephanie Shurtleff of Fuquayvarnia, NC, and Veronica Ruston; nephews, Stephen Nichols of Lake Butler, FL, Johnathan (Annie) Nichols of Alachua, FL, and Rebecca Nichols of Lake Butler, FL; numerous extended family also survive. A funeral service to honor the life of Ken will be held on Tuesday, May 21, at 4:00pm, in the Chapel of Archer Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends for a visitation on Monday, May 20, from 6:00 to 8:00pm, at the funeral home. Pastor Danny Fouraker and Pastor Richard Harrison will be officiating the services. His interment will be at Dekle Cemetery in Lake Butler, FL.

Arrangements are entrusted to ARCHER FUNERAL HOME. 386-496-2008 In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Trinity Baptist Church and Union Baptist Church, both in Lake Butler, FL. The family would also like to acknowledge Haven Hospice for their care and support in this difficult time.
