Franklin Kent Bybee November 14, 1935 ~ November 27, 2018 Franklin Kent Bybee passed away peacefully at his home, Tuesday, November 27, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born November 14, 1935, in Ogden, Utah, to Joseph C. and Gladys Stoddard Bybee. On April 14, 1955, Kent married Joyce Hodson in the Salt Lake Temple.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and faithfully fulfilled many church callings during his life. In 1960, Kent and Joyce built their home in Clinton where they have lived the past 58 years. Kent was very active in the community and spent many years coaching his two sons and daughter in baseball, softball, football and basketball.

In 1966 he organized and coached the first Little League baseball team in West Point and later acted as the West Point Athletic Director for a number of years. He began working at HAFB in 1954 and remained there until his retirement in 1980. Shortly after that he went full time with his Real Estate career working with thousands of people and making many friends throughout the past 38 years.

He enjoyed sports, camping, hunting, and golfing with family and friends. He always loved living in the country where over the years he had horses, cattle and pigs. He really enjoyed working in his garden where he grew a variety of fruits and vegetables which were always shared with family and friends.

Kent is survived by his wife, three children, Michael (Darrelyn), Scott (Shelly) and Holly (Jeremy) Temple, nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one sister, Karen Jeffs. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Joseph Dwain Bybee. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.

The family will meet with friends Monday, December 3rd from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, West Point Cemetery.
