Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday morning, February 5, 2019. Kent was born in Murray, Utah on October 15, 1940 to Wayne and Maurine Saxey. He was the second of two children.

Kent graduated from Davis High School in Kaysville, Utah. He then attended the University of Utah and graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering. On February 4, 1965 Kent married Judy Alder, the love of his life, in the Salt Lake Temple.

In 1968 he was drafted into the Vietnam war where he served as a Captain in the Army. He earned the Bronze Star award for “Meritorious Achievement in Ground Operations Against Hostile Forces” during his service in Vietnam. Upon returning from the war Kent and Judith became the parents of four children and later the grandparents of 15 grandchildren.

Kent and Judith served for 10 years as missionaries for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Addiction Recovery Mission. He loved this service! During his life Kent loved snow skiing, water skiing, camping, fishing, hiking, movies, genealogy, every kind of gadget, and his lifelong friends in “The Study Group”.

He was our soccer coach, scout master, frogman boat driver, outdoor guide and confidant. His unique laugh and sense of humor brought joy to all who knew him. Kent was a devoted father and husband.

He loved his wife, children and grandchildren more than anything in the world and he literally gave everything he had to them. They truly love him back! Huggins and kisses three times.
