Kevin J. Halpin, 80, of Sayville, LI, died on Saturday, March 23, 2019. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was a resident of Sayville for the past six years and lived in Yorktown Heights, NY for many years prior. Kevin served in the US Marine Corps and was a 9/11 volunteer with the American Red Cross.

He was a longtime employee with the NY Telephone Company before retiring as a manager with AT&T approximately twenty-five years ago. Kevin is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Rose, his two devoted daughters, Irene of Manhattan and Jeannette Kolar and her devoted husband Brian of Sayville, his three cherished grandsons, Aidan, Mitchell and Philip, and his two dear sisters, Maureen Bahr of North Carolina and Mona May of Connecticut. He was predeceased by his brother Brendan.

Kevin will be deeply missed by his large extended family of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews in the US, Ireland, England and France. Kevin relished life and enjoyed many of its simple pleasures, such as cheering for the NY Giants or the NY Mets, tending to his manicured lawn, a good Robert Ludlum paperback, a hot dog with mustard and onions, a hearty Irish breakfast, and a cold pint of Smithwicks. He treasured his many visits to Ireland and his cruises all over the world with Rose.

One of his greatest joys was watching his beloved grandsons playing football in Sayville.
