Kirby Lee Smith August 15, 1955 – December 19, 2018 Send Sympathy Gifts Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Kirby Lee Smith, son of the late Vernie Smith and Mabel Hawkins Smith born August 15, 1955 in Salem, Missouri departed this life on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at his residence in Centerville, Missouri. He had attained the age of sixty-three years, four months and four days. On December 21, 2003 Kirby was united in marriage to Robin Crawford in St. Louis, Missouri.

Kirby worked as a Boilermaker and was a member of the Boilermakers Local 27 in St. Louis, Missouri. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge of Hopewell Lodge #239. Kirby enjoyed deer hunting and fishing with his grandkids; Holden and Rylee, gardening with his wife, ranger riding, rock polishing, taking care of his chickens and most of all he loved to spend time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Kirby is preceded in death by one grandson, Brandon Laughman; four brothers, Bob, Kenneth, Russell, and Larry Smith and two sisters, Sue Miller and Brenda Ploudre. Survivors include his loving wife, Robin Smith of Centerville, Missouri; four sons, Jason Dean and wife Jennifer of Savannah, Georgia, Joshua Laughman and wife Cari of Lesterville, Missouri, Jacob Laughman and wife Heather of Lesterville, Missouri, and Rhett Laughman of St. Paris, Ohio; two daughters, Tina Rhoades and husband Steven of Centerville, Missouri and Nikki Dean of Middlebrook, Missouri; two sisters, Vicky Bayer and husband Tom of Rolla, Missouri and Tammy Scheets and husband Steve of Salem, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren; a host of special nieces and nephews as well as many other relatives and friends who mourn his passing. A visitation will begin at 5:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 27 at McSpadden Funeral Home in Lesterville, Missouri with a Memorial Service to begin at 7:00 P.M. in the funeral home chapel.
