OBITUARY L. Gene Tarpley June 19, 1959 – December 14, 2018 L. Gene Tarpley, age 59, passed away on December 14, 2018 in Greenville, Texas. He was born on June 19, 1959 in Norman, Oklahoma to Bloyce and Barbara Tarpley. Gene was a proud member of the Lawton Eisenhower High School Class of 1978.

He married Nita Colquitt in 1978, they made their home and raised their daughters in Choctaw, Oklahoma. Gene was avid fan of the Oklahoma Sooners and NASCAR. His family and friends will remember him as always being someone willing to offer friendship, with a keen sense of humor and playful smile.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Tarpley; sister, Janet Dixon; and son-in-law, Mark Sumpter. Gene is survived by his father, Bloyce Tarpley; daughters, Stacy Tarpley and Melissa Sumpter; brother, Gary Tarpley; and grandchildren, Hayden and Laci Sumpter. A memorial service is scheduled for 1:00 pm on Saturday, Dec.

29, 2018 at Gonzalez Funeral Home and Crematory 3050 N. Stemmons Fwy.
