LARRY ANTHONY BACOLOT Feb 11, 1958 – Sept 28, 2018 Our Loving Larry went to rest on Sept 28, 2018. He was born on Feb 11, 1958 and was the eighth of ten children born to Baldomero and Henrietta Bacolot. Larry was a life long resident of Santa Maria and attended Fairlawn, El Camino, and Santa Maria High School.
Larry was well known for his humorous personality, his big “hee. . hee.
. hee” laugh, and even larger heart. He felt blessed to have all of his family, especially… Read More » his children and grandchildren.
Larry was not shy or short when it came to making life long friends. He cherished each one with a little story or memory he would share with a punch line that often made us laugh. Larry was a big kid at heart.
Every day was like an adventure much of what he took from his upbringing on the ranch. But in more recent years, his greatest love was the relationship he had with God. He loved to pray and read the Bible, and felt that without God he would have or be nothing.
Before becoming an established auto body painter, Larry worked in the agricultural industry with H.H. Maulhardt, Bonita Packing and Tandam. Larry loved working on his cars. Many recall the Buick, his Black Wagon, and the “Buffalo”.
In the 70’s, along with his friends, they formed The CROWD car club, which he remained a member to this day. Before his health took the better of him, for many years he looked forward to taking his “Fat Boy” for a nice ride anywhere with his friends or wherever the road would take him. And though he was no longer able to ride his bike, it didn’t stop him from recently getting a jeep to be able to get around town and pick up his grandkids.
When found it didn’t have bearings, he knew exactly how and who to go to get it fixed. No problem…that’s what Larry did. Among the things Larry enjoyed most were spending time with his family, children, grandchildren, and friends…cooking, BBQ-ing or just hanging out, laughing and playing around with all the kids…who if he wasn’t their poppa, grandpa, uncle, or nino, they would adopt him as such.
Larry leaves behind his daughter Lorry Bacolot, and son Arnulfo Mendoza, Jr.; Grandchildren Toni, Vinnie, Maryjane, Marley, Malia, Salie, Sal, Marc, Alyssa, Mercedes, Cynthia; Great Grandchildren Janette, Cedrick, Jessie, Bellanie, and Adrian; Brother Tony Bacolot (Silvia); Sisters Mary Bagnuda; Rose Serna; Pauline Hernandez (Clyde) and Sally Bacolot; numerous nephews and nieces.
