Larry’s Obituary Larry “Butch” Zec Sr., of Burghill, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly at 12am on May 14, 2019, in Sharon Regional Medical Center. He was 72. On September 4, 1946, he was born in Grove City, PA, a son to Elizabeth (Hassell) and Stephen Zec.

Butch attended Farrell schools and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. For 25 years, Butch worked on the railroad line at Sharon Steel Corps. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and belonged to several motorcycle clubs, the last one being The Iron Dukes in New Castle, PA.

Butch also coached for Patagonia baseball and Sharon Colts football. Butch is survived by his wife, Karen (Johnson) Zec, whom he married on April 1, 1967, and she survives at home; sons, Larry, “Butchie” Zec Jr. and his wife Krista of Cranberry Twp. , PA and Kenneth Zec of Burghill, Ohio; a sister, Donna Grithith of Cape Fear, N.C.; brothers, Ricky Zec and his wife Mary of Farrell, PA and Michael Zec and his wife Debbie of Sharon, PA; 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Besides his parents, Butchie is preceded in death by his son, Donovan Zec; a grandson, Matthew Zec and a brother, Steve Zec.
