Larry Duane Hemm, 74, of Welton, Iowa, died Friday morning, May 17, 2019. He was born November 20, 1944, in Clinton to Arthur and Shirley (Bell) Hemm. Larry served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.

He married Mary Hodge August 3, 1966, in Rock Island, Illinois. Larry worked for Caterpillar-Mound Joy Works for 22 years and later a subsidiary of Boeing in Sheldon, Washington. Larry then worked for Olson Engineering in Eldridge until retirement.

His wife preceded him in death March 3, 2007. Surviving are a daughter and son-law, Laurie and Shaun Fish of Walcott; a son, Steven Hemm of Seattle, Washington; a granddaughter, Kayla (James) Rutherford of Bennett; great-grandchildren, Aiden and Boston Weimerskirch; siblings, Jim (Maryann) Hemm of Coal Valley, Illinois, Mervin (Jean) Hemm of East Moline, Illinois, Judy (Cary) Bowlyou of Pleasant Valley and William (Cathy) Hemm of Port Byron, Illinois. In addition to his wife, Mary, Larry was preceded in death by his parents.

Interment will be at Rock Island National Cemetery.
