Larry J. Mosher, 76, a lifelong resident of Little Marsh, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family. He married Nancy C. Spencer on September 15, 1962 and they shared 56 years of marriage together. He was born April 13, 1942 in Corning, NY, the son of the late Charles and Ilene (Short) Mosher.

Larry retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation after 30 years of service in 2002. He was very involved in Chatham Township for many years and took great pride in mowing properties around the township. Prior to his employment with PennDOT, he also held positions at the former Rankin Dairy and the Elkland Tannery.

Larry’s passion for music led him to start a band named Larry and the Moonlighters. He loved to play the accordion and called square dances for 25 years. He was also a radio-controlled airplane enthusiast and flew them often.

In addition, he volunteered with the Chatham Township Volunteer Fire Company, the Clymer Hose Company and Sabinsville Ambulance Association. Larry will be remembered by family and friends for his selfless acts and great sense of humor. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Nancy C. Mosher of Little Marsh; daughters, Vivian (Harold) Watkins of Little Marsh and Jolanda (Morgan) Fitzwater of Shortsville; grandsons, Matthew Watkins of Little Marsh and Colton Fitzwater of Shortsville; five great grandchildren; brothers, Dennis Mosher and Ralph Mosher, both of Little Marsh; sister, Charlene Seelye of Mansfield; several nieces and nephews; many dear friends.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his son, Larry J. Mosher, II, and a grandson, Dustin Fitzwater. A memorial service to honor and celebrate Larry’s life will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2018, 6:00 p.m. at his residence in Little Marsh. Pastor Gary Wolfe will officiate services and burial will be held in Wormer Hill Cemetery.
