Larry L. Perseke, age 68 of Hastings, died suddenly on Thursday evening, February 7, 2019, at Regina Medical Center in Hastings. Larry Lee, the son of LeRoy and Gladys (Bendt) Perseke, was born on July 30, 1950, in Tintah, Minnesota. Following his graduation from Tintah High School with the class of 1969, Larry enlisted in the United States Army and was later granted an Honorable Discharge.

On May 15, 1976, he was united in marriage to Barbara Anderson at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Maplewood. Larry was a longtime employee at Northern Natural Gas in Farmington, and retired after over thirty years of employment. After retirement, Larry enjoyed working as a part time driver for Napa and had a talent to fix or make just about anything.

Larry enjoyed ice fishing, coaching his children’s teams, watching the Minnesota Vikings, wintering in Mesa, Arizona, and will forever be remembered as a very kind-hearted man as well as being a great jokester and prankster. He was preceded in death by his parents. Larry is survived by his wife of nearly forty-three years, Barb of Hastings; children, Chris (Rachel) Perseke, and Dan (Tia) Perseke; grandchildren, Payton, Parker, and Wilder; siblings, Linda (Jerry) Brooks, Donna (Paul) Gerstner, Dave (Karen) Perseke, and Darrell (Laurie) Perseke; sister-in-law, Gloria (Don) Boquist; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 13, 2019, at St. Philip’s Lutheran Church in Hastings, with Pastor Gregory Geier officiating. Immediately following the service, Military Honors will be provided by the VFW Lyle Russell Post 1210. Private family interment will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Family and friends are cordially invited to a visitation from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening, and also from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday morning, all at church.
