Obituary for Larry R. Baca 1948-2018 Larry Robert Baca, age 69, a resident of Los Lunas, NM, went peacefully with the Lord on October 7, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Marian Baca, his brothers, Jake and Mike Baca, and his sister, Elsie Sanchez. Larry is survived by “his Lovelies” Janel Baca, Janet Baca, Jennifer (Rory) Schaaf, his two grandsons, Jessie Ortega and Maddox Schaaf and his siblings; Leo (Lorina) Baca, Juanita (Tony) Chavez, Martin (Vicki) Baca, Lucy (Rey) Aragon, and many loving nieces and nephews.
He adored his daughters and grandsons. Larry would often refer to them as his “best medicine” as he battled cancer. No matter how sick he got, he always had an abundance of love to give.
He was an incredibly hard worker and it has been mentioned that he could operate a loader to perfection in his sleep. Larry had a passion for helping others and this was reflected in the many ways he gave of his time, even when he wasn’t feeling his best. Whether it was as small as weeding a yard for a neighbor or as large as repairing fences for his brother’s goats, he never turned down the opportunity to help.
He will be missed by many. All services will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 11th at 5:00 pm with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 pm.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 12, 2018, with a Visitation at 9:00 am followed by a Funeral Mass and Internment at 10:00 am. Urn bearers will be Jessie Ortega, Rory and Maddox Schaaf. We’d like to especially thank Audrey Arviso, his brothers and sisters and our mom, Diana Ray, for all the care they provided in his time of need.
