Graveside services for Larry Hensrud of Ocala, FL and formerly of Badger, MN will be held on Saturday, October 6th at 2:00 PM at the Bethany-Swedish Cemetery in Badger, MN. Larry Wayne Hensrud, age 72 of Ocala, FL and formerly of Fergus Falls, MN, died on August 30, 2018. He was born on April 4, 1946 in Grand Forks, ND to parents Jeanette (Carlson) and Ray Hensrud.

He attended high school in Badger, MN, and graduated from Moorhead State University in 1969. He went on to receive his master’s degree at South Dakota State University in 1996. Larry worked as a drug and alcohol counselor in the mental health profession.

He later served as the clinical director at various mental health agencies. Larry enjoyed traveling, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, and having long conversations. He also loved eating lutefisk and lefse, like the true Minnesota Norwegian/Swede he was.

Larry is survived by his nephews and nieces and their families, and by his special friend, Susan Helsper. He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Lily Carlson; parents, Ray and Jeannette Hensrud; half-brother, Douglas Hensrud; and half-sister, Raeann McGurray.
