Franklin Latain Cook, 73, passed away on Monday, February 11, 2019 at NMMC-Gilmore Hospital in Amory. Born on October 28, 1945 in Decatur, AL, she was a daughter to Avis Voss and Johnnie Boren. Growing up in the Palestine Community of Itawamba County, she graduated Itawamba County Schools.

Married to Billy Joe Cook in 1985, Latain was deeply devoted to God and she traveled for over 30 years with many gospel groups singing and playing piano using her talents. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a seamstress in the area garment plants. As a master seamstress, she could sew and make anything from a pattern book.

With an intellectual mind, she was an avid reader. She was of the Church of God faith. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, February 15, 2019 at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home in Amory with Bro.

Burial will follow in the Liberty Cemetery. Survivors include her sons, Kirby Turner (Trina) of Mantachie, Donnie Turner (Wendy) of Mantachie, and Matt Cook (Hannah) of Florence, MS; daughters, Tammy Stanley (Tony) of Brandon and Renay Tate (Tony) of Amory; brothers, James Voss of Tupelo and Paul Boren (Mamie) of the Palestine Community; sisters, Lillie Roper (Donald) of Guntown, Ola Voss of Guntown, and Peggy Stephens of Mantachie; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe Cook; her parents; and brothers, Robert Voss and Mack Boren.

Pallbearers will be Phillip Roper, Blake Turner, Tyler White, Chris Bryant, Paul Boren, Terry Parker, and Wyatt Landrum. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
