Mrs. Laura Elaine Washington Glasgow A homegoing celebration for Mrs. Laura Elaine Washington Glasgow of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Friday, March 15, 2019 will be held Saturday, March 23rd, 2:00 p.m. at Revealing Truth Ministries, 5201 N. Armenia Ave. , Revealing Truth pastor, officiating. The interment will be in Mayberry Cemetery.

Laura Elaine Washington Glasgow was born on October 18, 1952 to the union of David and Laura Bell Washington. Laura Elaine Washington Glasgow attended Hillsborough County Schools. She graduated from King High School with the class of 1970.

She than relocated to Rochester, New York with aunt Dorothy. She returned to Florida and started a career with Winn Dixie Grocery Stores. She worked in several departments of the Winn Dixie Stores in Thonotosassa, Florida.

She was a free-spirited person who loved the Lord. She received Christ at an early age from Loving Hill Primitive Baptist Church. Prior to her death she was a member of Revealing Truth Ministries Church.

She had a contagious cheering spirit that redirected to those who she came in contact with. Elaine loved talking about the Lord. She passed a positive and encouraging mind.

She truly enjoyed her life and showed it by always singing uplifting songs. Her life was truly God filled. She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Laura Bell Washington.

She leaves to mourn and cherished memories with sisters, Dinah Butler (Oscar) and Juanita Washington and special friend, John Trodgon; brother, David Thomas Washington, Jr. (Kelly); nieces, Nicole Butler, Telsalla Thomas (Antoine Stone) Ariel Washington and Denise McCutheon; nephews, Cyrum Thomas, Avantae Steplight, Tajar Welch, Stankey Thompson, Lamont Thompson and Myron McCutheon; great-niece, Tajarie Welch; great-nephews, Tareeq Welch, Jakeem Johnson, Antonio Stone III and Tajiri Stone; aunts, Cottie Mae Starks, Lonnie Mae Otis and Angela Edwards; a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, friend and other relatives. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, March 22nd from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
