Laura Nell Hopson, age 81, of Shirley, Arkansas went to be with the Lord December 15, 2018 at Springhill Baptist Memorial Hospital in North Little, Rock, Arkansas. Born December 19, 1936, in Austin, Texas she was the daughter of the late James and Mary Stockton Courtney. She was a homemaker and attended Brownville Baptist Church in Higdon.

Laura loved her family and she was an outdoor person that loved fishing, traveling, gardening and taking care of her flowers. In addition to her parents she also was preceded in death by two brothers, Edwin and Raymond Courtney and two sister, Ruby House and Geneva Morgan. Survivors include her husband Charles Everett Hopson whom she whom she married December 31, 1977; one son, James Vernon Miller of Greenbriar, AR; two daughters, Rebecca Moffett of Farmerville, LA and Linda Gowan of Bluff City, AR; six grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren and many friends.

Visitation will be 1:00 to 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 18, 2018 with the service following at 2:00 pm with Bro. Jeff Feil officiating. Interment will be in Brownsville Cemetery near the church.
