Obituary for Laurie Kay Dobson Babcock Laurie Kay Dobson Babcock, 65, of Interlochen, passed away Friday, December 28, 2018 at Munson Hospice House in Traverse City. Laurie was born on Wednesday, September 9, 1953 to Carol Jean (Hertz) and John L. Dobson. She attended Kingsley Schools and in her senior year transferred to Traverse City Central High School, graduating from there.

For many years, Laurie was employed by Master Dry Cleaners, where she enjoyed serving and visiting with the customers. She loved to work crossword puzzles, enjoyed country music and line dancing as well as spending time at the beach. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Laurie is survived by her children, Chadd Babcock and Erin Babcock; her grandchildren, Katherine, Emma and Winston; her dad, John (Ellen) Dobson, siblings, Mark (Brenda) Dobson, Diane (Jeff) Hanna and Joe Dobson. She also leaves her nieces and nephew, Nicole, Angela, Jody, Teri and Jason. Laurie was preceded in death by her mom Carol Dobson and her son Mikol Babcock.

At her request, cremation has taken place and a family service will be held at a later time. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff at Munson Hospice House for the excellent care and friendship they provided Laurie.
