Laurie’s Obituary Laurie Pamela Sue Swan, 58, of Killeen, Texas, formerly of Paxton passed away 4:37 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at First Lutheran Church, 301 S College, Paxton with Rev. Debra Domeier and Rev.

Ron Rasmus officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgeland Twp Cemetery, Thawville. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday, March 11, 2019 at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E Pells, Paxton.

Laurie was born December 30, 1960 in Paxton the daughter of Orval and Glenda Scharlach Koehn. She married Scott R. Swan August 25, 1979 at First Lutheran Church, Paxton. He survives.

Along with her husband Scott, she is survived by two daughters, Crista (Joshua) Baasch of Killeen, TX, Amanda (William) Puckett of Temple, TX; three grandchildren, Braden, Lila and Michael; father and step mother, Orval (Roberta) Koehn of Watseka; mother, Glenda Smith of Sun City, FL; one sister, Paula (Joe) Kendall of Valrico, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her step father, Delmar Smith. Laurie graduated from Onarga High school in 1979 and from Saint Leo University, Fort Stewart, Georgia in 1993.

With her banking, accounting and finance background she worked in the ASCS office, Paxton, Bank of Rantoul and in Leesburg, Louisiana before becoming a transcriptionist at Central Texas College, Killeen, Texas After leaving Paxton in 1989, she followed her husband in his military career living in Louisiana, Virginia, Georgia, California, Texas and Germany. She loved being a military wife and all it had to offer including extensive traveling throughout the United States and Europe. She enjoyed her annual trips to the San Antonio River Walk, listening to music in Fredericksburg and Luckenbach and going on wine tours.

She was an avid Chicago Cubs and Green Bay Packers fan. Nothing meant more to her than spending quality time with those she loved, grandchildren, family and friends alike, laughing, chatting and just being together. She was truly a collector of friends.
