Lawrence “Larry” Dean Slade, 69 of Ennis, passed away Monday, July 2, 2018 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 21, 1949 in Ennis, Texas. Larry loved being in his game room playing pool and spending time with his family.

He worked as a mechanic and was also a truck driver. He served our country in the United States Army and was in the Vietnam War. He is survived by his sons, Billy Slade and Joey Slade and his wife, Monica; his sister, Valerie… Read More » Mitchell Stanton; his grandchildren, Mariah Slade Shortnacy and her husband, Dustin, Joey Slade, Jr., Izacc Slade, and Emery Slade.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Gordon W. Slade and Floydene Slade Lenamond; also by his brothers, Donald Lynn Slade and James Gordon Slade. Larry recently found out he was going to be a great-grandpa and was very excited. A graveside service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2018 at the Palmer Cemetery under the direction of Wayne Boze Funeral Home.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home, Waxahachie.
