Moll Sr., Lawrence “Larry” Henry Buena Vista Township, MI Loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away surrounded by family on July 20, 2018. Lawrence was born on July 19, 1929 to the late Henry William Moll and Mable Gertrude (Nelson) Moll. Lawrence served in the U.S. Army from 1946-1947.
He was stationed in Berlin, Germany for WWII in the European Theatre with the 1st Division Infantry Regime. Lawrence married Mary Lou Firmingham of Flint on October 3, 1952. Together, they have three children: Lawrence Jr and his wife Neta (Folwer), Stacey Burt and her husband John, and Jeffrey and his wife Lana (Coughran).
He also has a daughter from a previous marriage, Gail Ann Falkingham of St. Petersburg, FL. After the army, Larry gained employment from General Motors for 41 ½ years before retiring in 1991. He served as a committee man and tin smith.
Lawrence was a commander of V.F.W. Post # 9931 in Bridgeport for many years and later transferred to V.F.W. Post #1566 as a member. He enjoyed the hobbies of wood working, playing cards, and was an avid sports fan of football, basketball, and especially hockey; Go Red Wings! Larry also enjoyed a few hunting trips and western movies.
Lawrence was welcomed into Heaven with open arms by his loving wife, Mary Lou and their beloved dog, Precious. Along with his parents, he was greeted by his siblings: Noreen, Ruth, Kenneth, and Clayton. His surviving sister Eleanor Morin was very close and special to him.
Along with Larry’s children, he is survived by many grandchildren: Stephanie (Moll) and her husband, Keith Husted, Lawrence Moll III, Joel Burt, Patrick Demo and his wife Joyce, Gideon Burt, Dennis Burt, Travis Sells, Joshua Sells, Jenna (Dehner) Krease, John Dehner and his partner, Alena Clinkston, Kriston Moll, Mallory Moll, 9 great-grandchildren along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, relatives and friends. The family would like to thank the staff at Bavarian Comfort Care and Courtney Darling for the loving care they gave Larry. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at Zion Lutheran Church, 1209 Hancock St. Rev.
Sue Hand will officiate with military burial at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens under the auspices of V.F.W. Post #1566. Friends may visit with the family at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. on Tuesday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. and at church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
