Leah J Cytrynowicz of Willow Grove, PA, passed away on April 21, 2018 with her loving husband Daniel at her side. She was 90. Leah was born in the Spring of 1928 in Mahanoy City, PA, to a loving father George and mother Anna.

She graduated from Mahanoy City High School in 1945, where she was an enthusiastic basketball player and an editor for the high school yearbook. In the Fall of 1954, Leah married her high school sweetheart Daniel Cytrynowicz, also of Mahanoy City. The newlyweds lived in Philadelphia for a time and then settled in Willow Grove.

Prior to her marriage, Leah was employed by Bell Telephone in Mahanoy City. After moving to Willow Grove, Leah wrote local news for the Willow Grove newspaper. Years later she worked for Sears &Roebuck in Abington, PA and eventually Prudential Insurance in Willow Grove.

Leah was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Abington, PA where she actively participated in the Esther Circle and visited church members who were not able to attend services regularly. Leah was a Girl Scout Troop leader at St David’s in Willow Grove as well as cookie chairperson. She was an avid puzzler doing crosswords, word search, Sudoku and jigsaw puzzles.

Leah loved reading mystery stories, working in her garden and swimming. Leah is survived by her husband of 63 ½ years Daniel, her three daughters – Linda Cytrynowicz-Adams (James), Janet Irvin (David), Constance Martin (James), and her three sons – Karl Cytrynowicz(Holly), Eric Cytrynowicz (Jennifer) and Steven Cytrynowicz (Laura). She had three granddaughters and six grandsons.

Leah is also survived by her sister, Ellen Roberts. She was predeceased by her parents, her three brothers and one sister. The family will gather for a private memorial service with close friends in June 2018 at the Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church.
