Lee’s Obituary Lee Hastings Simmons, 81, of Finley, TN, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital. He was born on October 23, 1937, in Halls, TN, to the late Thomas Hilton Simmons and the late Emma Sue Hastings Simmons. Lee was a retired pharmacist for the Dyersburg Methodist Hospital.

He was a graduate of the UT College of Pharmacy, where he was a member of the Kappa Sigma Pharmaceutical Fraternity. Lee was a member and deacon at Finley Baptist Church and was also a member of the Coffee Club that met every Monday at the BBQ Hut. He was a commissioner for the Dyersburg Suburban Utility District and was an avid Alabama sports fan.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Finley Baptist Church with Bro. Charlie Halliburton officiating. Entombment will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Friday, May 10, 2019 at the church. Survivors include his wife, Doris Simmons of Finley, TN; two daughters, Lee Ann Simmons of Knoxville, TN and Teresa Perkins and husband, Dennis, of Sierra Vista, AZ; and three grandchildren, Callie Perkins, Kyle Perkins and Lauren Perkins.

Pallbearers will be Dennis Perkins, Kyle Perkins, Mike Goff, Derroll Davison, Mark Enochs and Brad Studard. Honorary pallbearers will be fellow deacons of Finley Baptist Church. Memorials may be directed to Finley Baptist Church or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
