Obituary for Lee Roy Doerflein Lee Roy Doerflein, of Harrison, Ohio formerly of Brookville, Indiana passed away December 27, 2018 at the age of 82. Lee Roy was born in Cedar Grove, Indiana to Robert and Mollie (nee Fields) Doerflein on June 21, 1936. He was a graduate of Brookville High School.
He married Carolyn Frey on July 29, 1961 and they were blessed with 7 children. Lee Roy was a farmer all of his life and was also a Real Estate Agent. He enjoyed square dances and he met Carolyn when he was a square dance caller.
Lee Roy was also a member of The Knights of Columbus. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 57 years: Carolyn (nee Frey) Doerflein; beloved children: Bonnie (Robert) Taylor, Donna (Daniel) Pegram, Thomas (Tabatha) Doerflein, Cari (Gary) Solar, Robin (David) Wiley, Robert (Cinnamyn) Doerflein; grandchildren: Wesley (Melissa) Taylor, Justin (Brittany Richardson) Taylor, Joe (Amanda) Taylor, Savhanna (Sam) Smith, Theodore “Teddy” (Barbra) Taylor, Samuel (Katie) Taylor, John (Julie) Pegram, Suzy (Tony) Kroeger, Katy (Ryan) Heil, Brooke Ihle, Skylar (Darren) Howell, Isabella (Scott) Schaefer, Roy Boudreaux, and Gideon Dougoud; great-grandchildren: Issiah, Malachi, Zayne, & Micah Taylor, Kaylie, Ellie, & Elizabeth Taylor, Wesson, Rosella, & Daisy Smith, Henry Taylor, Nolan & Oliva Pegram, Luke & Ben Kroeger, and Gideon Ethan Dougoud; his sister: Arlene (Warren Combs) Scott; as well as many nieces and nephews. Lee Roy is preceded in death by his son: Edward “Teddy” Doerflein; his grandchildren: Sarah Taylor and Kayla Ihle; his parents: Robert and Mollie (nee Fields) Doerflein; and his siblings: Robert F. Doerflein, Carol Gruber, and David Doerflein.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 1, 2019 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Brater Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine St., Harrison, Ohio 45030. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 508 Park Ave. , Harrison, Ohio 45030.
