In Loving Memory Of Leland LeRoy Getting Leland Getting, the son of Roy and Gertrude (Dorman) Getting, was born on December 19, 1924 in Windom, MN. He grew up in Bingham Lake, MN where he attended country school. In 1935 his family moved to a farm east of Fulda, MN.

He graduated from Fulda High School in 1942. Leland was united in marriage to Lyla Mae Bultmann on September 3, 1950 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Fulda. After marriage they lived and farmed three different Coburn farms east of Fulda.

In 1983 they moved to an acreage east of Lime Creek, MN and in 1994 they moved into Fulda. Leland retired from farming in 1992, but continued to help his son, Elden on the farm. In September of 2014 they moved to the Maple Lawn Senior Living Campus in Fulda.

Leland passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at the Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Fulda at the age of 93. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church rural Fulda where he held positions of elder, deacon, trustee and treasurer. Leland also served on the Co-op Elevator Board for 3 years.

He was a dedicated and passionate farmer. His devotion to the farm and family filled his days. In the barn or on his tractor he enjoyed listening to his radio tuned to WCCO or KNUJ Polka Time.

Survivors include his wife, Lyla Getting of Fulda, MN; 5 children, Lorinda (Lloyd) Witt of Owatonna, MN, Vicki (Mike) Stewart of Park Rapids, MN, Elden (Lynn) Getting of Fulda, MN, Leslie (Jackie) Getting of Owatonna, MN and Jodie (Cindy) Getting of Fulda, MN; 11 grandchildren, Ryan (Tracie) Witt, Kari (Ross) Reiffenberger, Kelli (Matt) McGovern, Kendra (Andrew) Geeslin, Molli (Jason) Anderson, Jalen (Cassie) Getting, Nathan (Alli) Getting, Ashley Getting, Chantel Getting, Alex Getting and John Getting; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Dianna (Glen) Whitesett of Sioux Falls, SD. He is preceded in death by his parents, 3 infant sisters, Colleen, Cletus and Donna Getting and sister, Lorraine Stock. Funeral Services Immanuel Lutheran Church rural Fulda, MN at 1:30 PM on Tuesday November 6, 2018 with Rev.

Karla Kirkeby officiating. The organist is Ron Janssen. The honorary pallbearers are his grandchildren.

Interment at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery rural Fulda, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
