Obituary for Lena Elizabeth Williamson Lena Elizabeth Frank Williamson, better known as Nana, passed away on Friday, November 30, in her beloved Assisted Living Apartment in The Waterford at Baytown. Nana was 91 years young. She was a feisty, strong, funny, hard working lady who loved life and lived it to the fullest.
Nana always told others, “Have no regrets! When you are old, you will live on your memories. Make great memories!
” Lena was a professional seamstress; loved her needle point, cross stitch and embroidery; proudly ran Nana’s Day Care, in her home, for 62 years; loved working in her yard and at the Williamson Ranch, until her vision and health gradually deteriorated. She was proud to tell everyone she loved God and was a life long Methodist. She was a member of Clark Memorial Methodist Church until it closed, where she taught Sunday School at all the elementary levels and substituted in the church nursery when needed.
Since 2009, she considered the First United Methodist Church of Groesbeck, Texas, her church. This amazing, kind, gracious, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to everyone she met, is now in the Arms of The Lord Jesus Christ. As Nana said often, “I have lived a good life!
I look forward to going to my Heavenly Home! ” She is most anxious to be reunited with her husband of 32 years, Haskell James Williamson; her precious mother, father, brothers and sister – and her Yancy Street neighbors. Most of all, Nana looks forward to thanking God for the many blessings He has bestowed on her and her family.
In lieu of flowers, Nana and her family request donations to honor her life be sent to the First United Methodist Church of Groesbeck, 203 W. State Street, Groesbeck, 76642, which Nana called “her church! ” – OR – the Dr. Shirley J. Williamson Elementary School, in Galena Park ISD, 6720 Forest Parkway, Houston, Tx. 77049.
Nana was so proud so see the Williamson Family name honored by this beautiful school! Nana’s Family especially sends love and TREMENDOUS gratitude to Faris Watson, caretaker; Dr.Esteban Berberian and staff; the awesome team on 2 East at Houston Methodist – Baytown and a host of amazing staff and friends at The Waterford in Baytown. Nana’s had the best months her life loving at The Waterford in Baytown!
She loved her Assisted Living apartment, staff and friends! Nana is survived by her son and wife, Gary and Konyia Williamson; daughter and husband Dr. Shirley J. Williamson and Bill Richardson; precious Granddaughter and husband, Aaron and Brandy Williams Anzaldua, grandsons Phillip and Ryan Williamson; great grandsons Zachary, Conner, Cole, Trey, Dane; adopted families Wendy, Roger, Hayden Wilkinson , Steve & Tana Nance, Gary “boyfriend“ and Linda Barker, Mike, Cyndi, Kamm, Keeley Coker; special family Lillian Hintz, Marla, Nathan, Crislyn Barrow, Ryan, Michele, Katie, Savannah Richardson; sisters and brother-in-law’s Joyce and James Lynn; Joan and Conrad “Frit” Sauer; nieces/nephews Anissa, Donny, Chip, Kim, Paul, Gretchen, Terry, Dee Dee, Sheila, Diana, Roger, Phyllis, Pete, Danney, Jimmy, Tammy, Bill M.; all Nana’s children and families from Nana’s Day Care, especially Lou Lou, Tammy, Sam Sam, Erin, Keeley, Kamm, Hayden and too many others to name. A Celebration Service to honor the life of Lena/Nana will be on Monday, December 3, 2018, at San Jacinto Funeral Home, Interstate 10 East/Beltway 8.
Visitation 12:30- 1:45 p.m. Funeral at 2:00 with burial in San Jacinto Cemetery. As per Nana’s request, Pastor Steve Nance of First Methodist Church of Groesbeck,will officiate. Burial at San San Jacinto Cemetery, the Cristus Section, next to Husband, Haskell James Williamson.
