Obituary of Lena Camp Mitchell – Lena Carol (Guess) Camp, 68, of Mitchell, died at 11:45 am on Monday, January 21, 2019 at her residence. Born February 22, 1950 in Hot Spring County, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Lewis A. and Doris (Davis) Guess. She married Robert Camp in Malvern, Hot Springs County, Arkansas and he survives.

She was employed at Bedford Nursing Home (CORE) where she rose from Nurse’s Aide to Social Services Director before her health curtailed her involvement in the Spring of 2000. She was a member of the Southland Church of Christ where she was active in several evangelical programs. She had served on the board of SICIL and consulted with the Medical Center on patient activities for a period.

Survivors include her husband, Robert, of Mitchell; a son, Robert L. Camp, II and wife, Lisa; a daughter Gina Margaret Camp; six grandchildren, Lindsay, Andrew, Gracie, Madison, Lillia, and Tyler; two great-grandchildren, Audrianna and Vera; a sister, Mattie Ann Long, of Waverly, TX; a brother, Gilbert L. Guess, of Mena, AR. She was preceded in death by her parents, a child (in infancy), and a sister. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Saturday, January 26th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Bud Smith officiating.

Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until the hour of service on Saturday, January 26th at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Family and friends may express condolences at wwwdaycarter.com.
