Obituary for Leon “Fast Eddie” Edward Wooley Jr Leon Edward “Fast Eddie” Wooley Jr., went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Monday June 18, 2018, at the young age of 87. His loving family from Aiken, South Carolina, was close by his side when he left this world. Eddie was born on May 5, 1931 in Bamberg, South Carolina, but soon made his way to Charleston, where he lived most of his life.

When his close family members moved to Aiken, SC, he followed to be near those he loved deeply and he knew would help care for him as he entered the twilight of his life. Eddie proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean conflict. He received the United Nations Medal, Foreign Service Medal, Navy occupation Medal, China service Medal and the Medal of Good Conduct.

After retiring the Navy, Eddie worked at the Naval Shipyard until he retired permanently due to injuries from his time in the service. He was an Honorable man and very proud of his service to our country. He continued his fellowship with his Military family as a member of the American Legion Post 179 on Ashley Hall Road.

Fast Eddie had an insatiable love for Harley Davidson Motorcycles and fast cars! He was an extraordinary pool player and always gave any opponent a tough game. He loved his dogs and had a special place in his heart for Doberman Pinchers.

Many of his close friends and family will remember “Garth” his prized Doberman. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Lerlene Wooley. He leaves behind his family in Aiken, SC, Lisa Lucas, (Charlie), Step Daughter Lindsi, and his beloved dogs Dobie and Pebbles.

He also leaves three sons, Leon Edward Wooley III of California, Theodore Hamilton Wooley also of California, and Allen Andrew Wooley of Charleston, SC. A graveside service will be held at Live Oak Memorial Gardens, Located at 3093 Ashley River Road, Charleston, South Carolina, 29414, on Thursday June 21, 2018 at 10:00AM. At the family’s request, In lieu of flowers please consider donating to your local Doberman rescue in honor of Eddie.
