Leonard “Bub” L. Tharp Jr., 58, of Steubenville died Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Trinity West ER. He was born July 31, 1960 in Steubenville. He is the son of the late Leonard and Violet Toy Tharp.

He is also preceded in death by his brother William Tharp, sister Violet Ghrist, mother in law Bunny Wells, and brother in law, Doug Wells. Leonard worked at Trinity West Medical Center as the Chief Groundsman, where he has been employed for 37 years. He enjoyed gardening, cutting grass, his grandchildren and his pups, Emmy and Ella.

Surviving are his wife Kathleen Wells Tharp, whom he married April 14, 1995; two sons Terry (Jennifer) Tharp of Steubenville and Leonard L. III (Kayla) Tharp of Richmond; four daughters Kristen (Joseph) Roe of Steubenville, Monica (JP) Jones of Steubenville, Darla Tharp of Toronto and Abby (David) Molesky of Steubenville; one brother Donald (Teresa) Tharp of Toronto; one sister Donna Oz of Toronto; thirteen grandchildren Kylie, Justin and Kami Roe, Matthew, Nicholas, Michael and Logan Jones; Taylor and Owen Tharp; Kaleb Marker, Bailey Tharp; and Ally and Mason Molesky. He is also survived by sister in law Karen (John) Lewis of Butler, PA and Jerry (Kathy) Wells of Blairsville, GA. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 2-5 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 43952 Sunset Blvd.
