Leonard Casimir Korzen age 80, of Algonquin passed away on December 18, 2018 at home after a long battle with cancer. He was a proud United States Army Veteran. Leonard was born at home in Chicago, Illinois on January 28, 2018 the son of Casimir and Agatha (Solkulski) Korzen.

He lost both of his parents by age 10 and was raised by his sister Olga (who’s still with us. ) He had three other siblings who all died more than 40 years ago. Leonard is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Frances (Crown) Korzen, his two wonderful children; Carol Lynn and Michael Casimir (Colleen Heir), and his dear grandchildren, Caitlyn and Shane.

Leonard, a graduate of the University of Illinois (Champaign-Urbana) worked as a Civil engineer for the State of Illinois for more than 25 years. Since retiring he has enjoyed traveling with his wife on many cruses to many countries. At Leonard’s request his body will be donated to Medical Science through the Anatomical Gift Association of Illinois, to value the education of Medical Students.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society are welcomed. Willow Funeral Home & Cremation Care in Algonquin/Lake in the Hills is assisting Leonard’s family with arrangements. online condolences may be directed to his family at www.
