Obituary for Mr. Leonard Charles Kizina Leonard “Lenny” Charles Kizina, of Starke, passed away on December 25, 2018, at the age of 82. He was born on February 27, 1936, in Cooper Township, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania, to parents William and Nevara Kizina, the youngest of 12 children. As a young man, Mr. Kizina proudly served in the United States Air Force where he worked as a sonar technician.

He was hired by General Electric working out of Syracuse, New York, where he was able to use his talents as an innovator and problem solver, traveling the world to work on aircraft carriers. Mr. Kizina received many accolades from his 30-year career at GE. He retired in 1989 and moved to Starke, Florida.

He enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, programming and repairing computers and anything else that might need fixing. His fellow GE workers would say, he could fix anything with a paper cup and a straw. He also enjoyed attending church, listening to BBN radio and visiting with friends and neighbors.

In his later years, he established Kizina Estates on the outskirts of Starke. Mr. Kizina is survived by his wife, Marilyn Mason Kizina, step-sons, Jeff A. Kerr of Starke, Rusty Kerr of North Carolina, his daughter Charlotte Kizina of Virginia, brother Bernie Kizina of Pennsylvania, and sisters Marie Figal of New York and Gertie Ambrose of North Carolina. Services for Mr. Kizina will be held at the Jacksonville National Cemetery.
