OBITUARY Leonard “Michael” L. Stuchell December 13, 1939 – November 30, 2018 Leonard L. “Michael” Stuchell LEXINGTON – Leonard L. “Michael” Stuchell, 78, of Lexington, SC passed away on Friday, November 30, 2018 at Providence Hospital. Michael was born December 13, 1939 in Green Oak, PA. He was the son of the late Hugh M. and Rose A. (Schall) Stuchel.

Michael lived in Vandergrift, PA and moved to Lexington, SC in October 1989. He worked as a relay calibrator for Union Switch & Signal, located in Pittsburgh, PA and in Batesburg, SC; he retired in 2004. Michael also served in the U.S. Air Force from 1962 to 1966 as a Fire Protection Specialist.

In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his three sisters, Betty M. Stuchel, Ruth Painter, and Hanna Jane Kwiatkowski and his two brothers, Robert Stuchel and William “Bill” Stuchel. Michael loved everything Pittsburgh—the Steelers and the Pirates especially. He enjoyed gardening, playing his guitar, and cheering for the Gamecocks.

He will be remembered by his wife of 42 years, Susan K. (Smith) Stuchell and his loving daughter Lisa A. Stuchell both of Lexington, SC, and his siblings, Dorothy Yearty of Deland, FL, Mervin W. Stuchel of Leechburg, PA, Ronald “Skip” Stuchel of Vandergrift, PA, and Darwin “Buck” Stuchel of Homer City, PA as well as several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am Saturday, December 8th at Caughman Harman Funeral Home 503 North Lake Drive in Lexington. Pastor Jim Mack will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of South Carolina. Following the services, the family will receive guests at their home in Lexington. The family would like to thank the Brian Center; Amedisys Home Health; the nurses, doctors, and staff of Providence Hospital; Hospice Care of South Carolina; and all their family, colleagues, and friends who brought much needed love, comfort, and sweet tea.
