OBITUARY Leonard Volante January 22, 1932 – November 16, 2018 Leonard Volante, 86, of Holiday City South in Berkeley Township, passed away on Friday November 16, 2018 at Community Medical Center in Toms River. Born and raised in Newark, NJ Leonard lived in Bloomfield for 19 years then Brick for 6 years then Merced, CA for 12 years before moving to Holiday City South 10 years ago. Leonard was a veteran of the US Army and recipient of the Korean Service Medal with 1 Bronze Star, the United Nations Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.

Leonard worked for the US Post Office in Newark, NJ for 20 years retiring in 1995. Leonard is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Joan Gordon Volante; two daughters, Donna Volante of Toms River and Dawn and Kevin Albers of Bayonne, NJ. Visiting hours will be held on Monday November 19, 2018 from 5 to 8 PM at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road Toms River, NJ 08755.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday November 20, 2018 at 10:30 AM at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church. Cremation will be private and Burial with Military Honors will be held at a later date at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to S.A.V.E.
