A homegoing celebration for Leslie Clara Hall Johnson of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at the Aikens Funeral Home from 12:00pm – 2:00pm. Leslie was born on May 11, 1961 in Buffalo, New York. Later her parents moved to Grand Island, New York, she attended and graduated from the Grand Island School System.

She attended Morris Brown College in Atlanta, GA and Erie Community College in Williamsville, NY after college she joined the United States Air Force. It was during this period in her life that she met and married Timothy Johnson. They had one son, Brandon Timothy, whom she loved dearly and later in life he became her best friend.

Many of her son’s friends referred to her as “Mama Leslie” and treated her with respect, Leslie loved life. She was always upbeat in her attitude and rarely complained despite some of the illnesses she suffered. Leslie loved shopping, traveling, cooking, horticulture, entertaining, living life to the fullest and spending time with family and friends were her passions.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter L. and Joan (Young) Hall and Edward Ketchmore; grandfathers, John L. Young and Clyde Hall; grandmothers, Clara E. Young and Agnes Hall. Leslie leaves to cherish her memory, her dear son, Brandon Timothy Johnson and her beloved granddaughter, Nahlia S. Johnson; brother, Ronald Johnson (Judy); sister, Patricia Hall; aunts, Barbara Coles (Clayton), Frankie Mae Noel (Ralph), Tommie Harris (Samuel) and Mary Hall (Frederick); uncle, Clarence Hall, Sr. and a host of other close family and friends. The visitation will be held Saturday one hour prior to the service from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at the chapel.
