Leslie Lloyd Toman, age 78, Flasher, passed away peacefully amongst family on July 13, 2018. A funeral service will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at Flasher High School (new gym). Burial will take place at Fairhill Cemetery in Flasher.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan, with a prayer service at 7pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service in the gymnasium. Les was born on December 26, 1939, in Mandan to Frank and Alice (Rask) Toman.

He graduated from Flasher High School in 1958 and attended North Dakota Agricultural College in Fargo for one year before moving to Rapid City, SD. On March 25, 1961, Les married Nancy Anderson. They lived in Rapid City where Les enjoyed working on and racing stock cars.

Les and Nancy moved to the Toman farm northwest of Flasher in 1972. Les enjoyed the farm and ranch life and was very meticulous about keeping things looking clean and in order. Les drove bus for Flasher Public School for 46 years, retiring in 2018 and always had a story to share about “his bus kids”.

He enjoyed watching the Flasher Bulldogs over the years, and more recently, he took great pride in supporting his grandchildren’s sports teams and their activities. Les was also an avid Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Vikings fan. He loved Mopar Muscle cars, especially his 1967 Plymouth GTX.

Blessed to have shared his life are five children, Amy (Paul) Drees, St. Hilaire, MN, Carol Toman (Ken Mittelstadt), New Milford, CT, Travis (Crystal) Toman, Bismarck, Nolan (Jenny) Toman, Mandan, and Alan (Laura) Toman, Bismarck; 8 grandchildren, Brett Wasness, Jordan, Emily, Kaitlyn, Brady, Todd, Addy, and Morgan Toman; sister, Annette (Jerry) Sieveke, Rapid City, SD; brother, Lester (June) Toman, Mandan; and several nieces and nephews. Les was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Alice; wife, Nancy; and sister and brother-in-law, Joyce & Harold Pulkrabek.
