Lester “Buck” I. Walker Sr., 89, of Girard, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2018, at Shepherd of the Valley in Niles. Lester was born, July 27, 1929, in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of Harold and Charlotte (Clark) Walker. A millwright by trade, he worked for over 50 years prior to retiring.

He was a member of the Carpenter’s Local #171, Youngstown, and the Liberty Assembly of God. In his spare time, Buck enjoyed racing stock cars back in the 60’s at Sharon Speedway and Canfield. However, he loved going to Geneva and Mosquito Lake with his family.

He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Lester L. (Debra) Walker , and Janis (Terry) Thompson, all of Liberty Twp. ; his grandchildren, Monica (Mark) Narotsky, Michael Walker, Charlotte (Michael) Ricchetti, Kelley (Matthew) Gruver, and Mark Thompson & his fiancee Monica; his five great-grandchildren; and his brother, Harold N. Walker, Jr., Liberty Twp. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Ann Walker, whom he married September 4, 1952, she passed away on July 24, 2010; and by his siblings, Gloria Powers, and Earl Wayne Walker.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday September 6th, at 8:00 PM at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard. The family will receive relatives and friends from 6:00 until the time of service. Lester will be laid to rest at Belmont Park cemetery next to his wife.
