Mr. Lester Devell Carter, age 85, of Heber Springs, Arkansas passed away Thursday, May 16, 2019 at his residence. Born October 30, 1933 in Crossett, Arkansas, he was the son of the late John Hunter Carter and Annie Oree Maxwell Carter. He was a US Army Veteran and a member of the Cowboy Church of Heber Springs.

Mr. Lester loved fishing, deer hunting, gardening and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Marguerite McDowell Carter; one son, Garry Ray Carter of Krum, Texas; one daughter, Dianne Elizabeth Bartee (Eddie) of Albany, Texas; six grandchildren, Stephen Bartee (Traci), Melissa Ward (James), Carlton Carter, Hillary Whitley (Clayton), Clayton Carter (Amberly) and Colton Carter; nine great-grandchildren and many friends. There will be a Memorial Service 2:00 pm, Saturday, May 18, 2019 at the Heber Springs RV Park pavilion.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
