Lester Joseph Schmitt passed away on February 11, 2019. Beloved husband of 53 years to Joan Saltalamachia Schmitt. Father of Leslie Schmitt, Frannie Schmitt, and Tammy Schmitt.

Grandfather of Kayla Blanchard (Doug) and Lauren Blanchard. Great-grandfather of Kingsley Blanchard. Son of the late Henry “Buck” Schmitt and Eula Grabert Schmitt.

Brother of Melvin Schmitt and the late John Schmitt, Ethel Boutain, Dolores Lepine, and George Schmitt. Also survived by beloved brothers and sisters in law, nieces, and nephews, as well as his beloved dogs Bella, Gucci, and Gracie. Age 82 years and a lifelong resident of Gretna, LA.

Lester retired from Alfortish Enterprises and the City of Gretna Street Department. He will be deeply missed by all. Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Funeral Prayer Service in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy, Harvey, LA on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at 11 AM.
