LESTER LEE MAHAFFEY SR. Lester Lee Mahaffey Sr., age 71, of Uhrichsville, O., passed away on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Community Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia, following a lengthy illness. Born on October 21, 1946, in Dennison, Lester was the son of the late Lester Earl and Annabelle (Edie) Mahaffey.

Lester graduated from Uhrichsville High School and enlisted in the United States Army, serving from February 4, 1966 until March 14, 1969. He was employed at Tolloti Pipe and local brick yards for 16 years. On November 17, 1972, Lester married Georgia (Striker) Mahaffey, who survives of the home.

Also surviving are their sons Lester “Lee” (Kelly) Mahaffey Jr. and George “E.L.” (Faith) Mahaffey, all of Uhrichsville; numerous grandchildren; one great grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Lester is preceded in death by three brothers. Lester enjoyed hunting, fishing, mind challenging puzzles and talking to people at Mako’s.

Funeral services for Lester will be held at 1 p.m., on Monday, June 18, 2018, at the Uhrich-Hostettler English Funeral Home, Inc., with the Pastor Sandra Mann officiating. Burial will follow at Ridgecrest Memory Gardens in Dover. Calling hours will be from 11 to 1 (two hours prior to services) on Monday, June 18, 2018 at the funeral home.
