OBITUARY Lillian Edwards June 10, 1929 – July 17, 2018 Play Tribute Movie Lillian DeHamm McDonald Edwards was born to the late Charles DeHamm and Dorothy Freightman on June 10, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois. She was educated in Chicago’s public school system and graduated from Du Sable High School. Upon graduating, she worked as a Stenographer and later completed a nursing program and became a Licensed Practical Nurse.

She worked at Billings and Mercy Hospitals in Chicago, Illinois and served as a private duty nurse until her retirement. Lillian married John S. McDonald and from this union two daughters were born; Kathleen and Patricia McDonald and a son was adopted; Robert Paul Ervin. She later married Clyde Edwards.

While living in Chicago, she was a faithful and devoted member of Trinity United Church of Christ under the leadership of Dr. Otis Moss. She was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary Service. After becoming a widow she relocated to Atlanta, Georgia in 2013 to be near her daughters.

Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; Charles DeHamm and Dorothy Freightman, her only sister; Ruby DeHamm Haltom; John S. McDonald and Clyde Edwards. She leaves to mourn yet cherish her memory her daughter; Patricia McDonald Bogus (Newton Arnold) of GA, her son; Robert Paul Ervin of TN/IL, one granddaughter; Gina Mitchell of IL, four grandsons; John McDonald of OH, Lamont (Jessica) Bogus of TN, Dr. Devin (Desiree) Bogus of NM, and Damion (Naomi) Bogus of CA, a host of great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; son-in-law Edward Weathers of GA, sister-in-law Natalie Brothers of MI, brother-in-law Dr. Edwin McDonald Jr of IL and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
