Obituary for Lillian Green Lillian Green passed away on Monday May 28, 2018. She was a native Tucsonan who graduated from Tucson High School and the University of Arizona. She was raised in a Masonic family having been a Rainbow Girl, and was initiated into the Order of the Eastern Star around her 18th birthday.

Lillian married Martin Green in 1956 in Tucson, Arizona. After Martin completed his military service, Martin decided to go into the funeral business and went to Mortician School. After graduation he and Lillian founded the Benson Mortuary and settled in Benson, Arizona.

In 1965 their daughter Mary was born, unfortunately her life was cut short due to cancer and she died. After Mary’s death Martin could no longer be a mortician so the business was sold and he went to work for a trucking company hauling explosive material. A year after Mary’s death, Martin was killed in a traffic accident.

Lillian helped her parents until they passed away, leaving Lillian with no living relatives. She became very active in the Order of Eastern Star and traveled all over the state. She belonged to six chapters and when she visited other chapters was often asked to take a station.

She was an exceptional ritualist and knew all the stations parts by heart. Lillian was an animal lover and was particularly fond of Boston Terriers and owned several. Her Boston’s and Eastern Star family became her family.

She had many friends and was a faithful Eastern Star member for over 65 years. She leaves her dear friend Diane Tannler a friend since they were five years old and Jan Johnson who she had known since the first grade.
