Obituary for Lillian Marie Sokoloff Lillian Sokoloff, 97 of Overland Park, Kansas passed away Sunday, November 25, 2018 at Village Shalom. Graveside services and burial will be 11:00 am Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at Sheffield Cemetery, 6100 Wilson Road, Kansas City, MO 64123. There will be a sharing of memories at 5:30 pm followed by Shiva service at 6:00 pm that evening at Village Shalom, 5500 W. 123rd Street, Overland Park, KS, 66209.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Lillian’s name to Village Shalom. Lillian was born April 23, 1921, in Kansas City, Missouri, to the late Isadore and Sophie (Hanick) Eisen. In 1951, she married Allen Sokoloff who passed away in 2005.

Before marrying Allen, Lillian worked at Kline’s and Peck’s Department Stores and was a keypunch operator for Blue Cross/Blue Shield. She later was a conscientious and loving child sitter for many families and held childcare supervisory positions at Atonement Lutheran Church and Trinity Anglican Episcopalian Church. Lillian was also an Avon representative for over 17 years.

Lillian was a devoted wife and mother, and a dedicated volunteer for many programs. She was a former member and programming vice-president of the Center Women’s Guild, a member of Congregation Beth Shalom and worked as a volunteer for the American Cancer Society’s Reach to Recovery Program for over 20 years. In addition to her parents and husband, Lillian was preceded in death by her brother, Harold Eisen; sister, Peggy Ashe; and grandson, Joel Sokoloff.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Harry Sokoloff and wife Kate; Janet Sokoloff Harness and husband Tom; Eva Sokoloff Morrow and husband Les; grandchildren: Kate Harness, Mary Harness, Cary Lockwood, Sam Sokoloff, Michael Morrow, Jamie Morrow and 4 great-grandchildren.
