Linda Kay Barnett, 73, passed away April 09, 2018 at Research Medical Center, one day before her 74th birthday. Kay was known to her friends and family as both Linda and Kay. Kay was born April 10, 1944 in Altadena, California, third of seven children of William D. Crain Sr. and Hazel (Anderson) Crain.

Along with her parents, Kay was preceded in death by her brother, William D. Crain, Jr.; and sisters, Margie Muir and Judy Ayala. She leaves her beloved partner Mary M. Alonzo, of Kansas… Read More » City, MO; her son Robert Dennis Barnett (Jacqueline) of Las Vegas, NV; her grandson Robert Chase Barnett, of Kansas City, MO; her brother Dennis Crain, Lake Stevens, WA; and her sisters Karen Foster, Vienna, Illinois and Susy Markham, Myrtle Creek, OR . Kay is also survived by nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Kay graduated from Argentine High School in Kansas City, KS. Kay loved many things in life, including road trips with Mary, puzzles, sunshine, nourishing her houseplants, the Beatles and most of all spending time with and enjoying the accomplishments and milestones of her extended family and friends. During Kay’s last months, she was especially grateful for the kindness and support of her nieces Wendy Lutz and Ashley Fazel.

A celebration of Kay’s life will be held on April 13, 2018 at 10:30 AM at the Souder Family Funeral Home, 1333 NE Barry Road, Kansas City, MO 64155. Flowers are welcome, but those who wish to donate may do so in Kay’s memory to The Sarah Cannon Fund in care of The American Cancer Society, 250 Williams Street, Atlanta GA 30303.
