Obituary for Linda Lee Taylor Tenney Linda Lee Taylor Tenney was born in Levan, Utah, December 26, 1944. She was delivered by a midwife in this small Utah town in a private home the day after Christmas. A late but special Christmas present.
She was the daughter of Heber Taylor and Vinese Shepherd. Linda is survived by three older siblings: Ethel, Grant and Brent. She attended grade school in Levan and high school in Nephi, Utah, graduating in 1963.
She enjoyed her high school days, especially being chosen as senior ball queen. Linda attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah after high school, graduating in 1968. She met her husband, Carl, at BYU, and they were married September 6, 1966 in Manti, Utah.
They lived in Wyoming, Arizona and Utah during their 51 years of marriage. Together they had five children: Cindy, Tad, Juliann, Tyler, and Amy. Linda is survived by her husband, Carl, their five children and their 21 grandchildren.
Throughout her life, Linda was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints. She served the Church as Relief Society President, Young Women’s President, and Primary President at various times in her life. She loved the Lord very much, and lived a Christ- like life.
One highlight of her life was to serve as a full-time missionary for her Church with her husband, Carl, for 18 months in Brooklyn and New York City in 2014 and 2015, working primarily with young adults. Linda was an active member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers in both Arizona and Utah. Linda loved to sew, to read, and to write.
She wrote several articles which were published in the Ladies Circle and the children’s Friend magazines. She also composed beautiful songs. She also loved to take a good walk and enjoy the beautiful scenery and sunshine in both Arizona and Utah.
Her favorite time of the year was the fall, when the beautiful colored leaves appear. Linda was also known as a great cook and a great hostess. Many friends and family members have shared a pleasant meal and a wonderful evening with Linda.
She was known as an excellent listener. She was loved by all who knew her. Linda’s life centered on her family.
She loved to travel many miles to spend days with various family members and to see her grandchildren perform in special events. Linda passed away peacefully in her sleep early in the morning February 6, 2018 at her home in Hooper, Utah at the age of 73 of an apparent heart attack due to complications from lymphoma cancer. A viewing will be held at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary 3333 W. 5600 South, Roy, Utah on Saturday, February 10, 2018 from 6 to 8 pm.
Funeral services for Linda will be held in Prescott, Arizona at the Prescott LDS Sandretto Chapel. 1101 Sandretto Dr. on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 11 am, with interment to follow in the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Prescott. A viewing will be held at Hampton Funeral Home, 240 South Cortez St., Prescott, AZ on Friday, February 16th from 6 to 8 pm.
and also Saturday morning, February 17th from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Sandretto Chapel, prior to the funeral.
