Obituary for Mark S Favour Mark S. Favour passed away peacefully on June 9th, 2018 surrounded by his family. He was 59. Born to Alpheus (A.L.) and Capella S. Favour, he was a 3rd generation Prescottonian and continued to lived his entire life as a proud resident of Prescott, Az.
Gentle and generous, he had a heart for service of others and a true fighting spirit. After graduating from Prescott High School in the class of 1977 he went on to begin his career in real estate and in 1981 he founded Favour & Associates LTD where he specialized in agricultural realty and appraisal. Throughout his life he went on to expand his business to include various investment pursuits.
Some of the fondest times of his life are remembered as the years spent on the Bar Cross Outfit in Williams, Arizona where he and his family raised cattle. It was here that his love for the western way of life was born. He loved fishing, the company of a good cow dog, and spent endless hours appreciating the inherent beauty of the Arizona countryside and its rich history.
Standing at 6’9” with a booming voice to match, he could easily be seen as an intimidating presence. However, it took only a moment to see that the only thing as big as him was his giant heart. Every time he ducked his head and entered a room his bright smile was sure to light it up.
No one ever stayed a stranger for long. He lived by the principal that we should all do whatever we could to help our fellow man. There are innumerable people that found out first hand that his generosity truly knew no bounds.
He was a member of the Yavapai Mounted Sheriff’s Posse, Arizona Cattle Growers Assn. and Prescott Kiwanis Club, where he held various leadership positions over the years. He also served as president for both the Arizona Jr Rodeo Assn.
& Arizona High School Rodeo Assn. Mark supported many charitable causes, with a particular soft spot for youth organizations and his community. He had a passion for rodeo where two of his daughters competed from a young age and then professionally, and two of his sons-in-law continue to compete professionally as well.
It is a community that he felt embraced ideals that closely reflected his own, and of which he was a well known and respected member. He loved the sport and he loved the people in it. No all-night drive was too long, and no performance too long for him to be the last man standing.
Mark is survived by his wife Kim. He leaves his legacy in three beloved daughters, Annie F. Sharp (Harper), Lindsay F. Branquinho (Luke), and Holly F. Jones (Blaine) and his six grandchildren, Ella, Weston, Owen, Mark Cade, Jameson, & Bear. Mark also leave behind his sister Allison F. Kravetz, as well as Kim’s sons Matthew and Zachary (Nicole, daughter Mia).
