Linda Rae Towner, 75, of Oldsmar, FL, passed away peacefully September 3, 2018 surrounded by loving family and friends. She was born July 17, 1943 in Waukesha, Wisconsin to Leonard Christensen and Betty Capito. Her early years were on a farm in Wisconsin Rapids, WI.

Later they moved to Pewaukee, WI where she graduated from Pewaukee High School on June 9th, 1961. She met her husband Ronald John Towner in September of 1961 at her home. They married on September 28th, 1963.

She had 4 children before moving to Florida the summer of 1970. She completed her family with 2 additional children in Florida making a total of 6 children. Linda drew her strength from the center of her life, her husband Ronald.

This unending strength allowed her to give freely while working past life’s problems, pains and disappointments. She was very supportive to her husband who she loved with all her heart and soul and as a mother of six she was independent, resilient, reful and dedicated, always making ends meet. She was a wonderful person who loved to help others whenever she could.

She always had her door open to anyone who needed it. She loved to do crafts, sew, puzzles, coloring, marbles, camping, Christmas time, birds, butterflies, her family and so much more. She was very creative and kind at heart.

She was a Girl Scout Leader for many girls from Brownies, Girls Scouts, Cadets and Seniors for over 25 years. Through hard work and dedication, she taught life lessons of respect, honesty, loyalty, love, and patriotism. Her wisdom, common sense and active listening without judgement allowed her to help others see the good and beauty in themselves and the world around them.

Through this she gave them encouragement to be the best person they could be and stay true to themselves. Linda was there for the birth of her grandchildren and give them all the love and support only she could give. It gave her great joy to spend time with them and anyone else they brought along.

To find her at home singing while working on a puzzle or playing games, telling little jokes and stories was common place. She was strong until the very end and never let it show how much she was hurting inside. She will be missed by many but never forgotten by those who knew her.

Linda was survived by her loving Husband of 55 years, Ronald Towner, her Son, Michael (Dana) Towner, her 5 Daughters, Carrie Towner, Bettylynn (Donald) Trahan, Julie (James) Contakos, Naomijean Carter (Andrew) , Danielle (Dan) Stermen, 9 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren, her 3 Sisters in Wisconsin, Sue Teuteberg, Colleen (Milton) Teuteberg, Toni (Paul) Anspach. The services will be on Saturday September 8th, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Oldsmar Community United Methodist Church at 207 Buckingham Ave E Oldsmar, FL 34677.
