OBITUARY Lisa Ross May 25, 1980 – October 1, 2018 Lisa Michele Wilson Ross passed away October 1, 2018 at the age of 38. She was born on May 25, 1980 in North Richland Hills and lived with Paul and their children in Keller, Texas. Lisa always was a hometown girl and Grapevine, Texas was always in her heart.
An avid Grapevine Mustang, Lisa graduated Grapevine High School in 1998 and went on to attend college at Texas Tech University and Texas State University earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, Early Childhood. Lisa played sports all throughout her life and specialized in softball where she played both catcher and short stop for many years as a youth and on the high school team. As a teacher, Lisa touched the lives of many children, teachers and staff alike.
She began teaching in September 2004 as a Student Teacher in Machaca, Texas. After that, she taught in Lockhart and Austin, Texas and the majority of her teaching years were spent in the Hurst-Euless-Bedford School District as an elementary school teacher at Midway Park Elementary. She taught classes at Midway Park Elementary through 2012 and then transitioned to a full-time mommy.
Paul and Lisa’s first date was July 3, 2011 and their courtship continues to this day. They married January 12, 2013 in Grapevine, Texas. Lisa’s creativity flowed and her hobbies included spending time with her beloved children, family gatherings, sewing, writing a blog entitled, “The All Boys Club”, and supporting her children’s sports – their greatest fan.
Cherishing her memory are husband of nearly 6 years, Paul; sons Pearce Johnston, Lucas Johnston, Jonathan Ross and James Ross; mother Mary Horswill; father Steve Wilson and wife Raven; siblings Angie Paulson and children Henry, Ruby, and Charlotte, Courtney Weinkam and husband Eric and their children Griffin, Mitchell, William and Owen, Stewart Wilson, Brittany Wilson, Jayde Wilson, Wyatt Wilson and Wayde Fulton; grandparents Don R. Wilson and Mary L. Wilson; mother-in-law Pauline Ross; brother-in-law, Rick Ross and wife Erin and their children Luke and Nathan; numerous extended Wilson, Ross, and Horswill family and many friends. Visitation will be from 5-8:00pm Friday, October 5, 2018 at Foust and Son Funeral Home in Grapevine, Texas Funeral services will be 10:00am Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Foust and Son Funeral Home in Grapevine, Texas. Lisa will be laid to rest at Bluebonnet Hills Cemetery Saturday, October 6, 2018 in Colleyville, Texas.
