OBITUARY Lois Marie Jackson January 9, 1921 – July 23, 2018 LOIS MARIE MUIR JACKSON January 9, 1921 – July 23, 2018 Lois Jackson of Colorado Springs, age 97, passed away on July 23, 2018. She was born on January 9, 1921 in Portland, Oregon, the second daughter of William Muir and Florence Whitehead Muir. She graduated from high school in Portland.

On February 1, 1941, she married Roy H. Jackson, a radio show band leader and, later, a 35-year career officer in the US Air Force. They retired to Colorado Springs, CO in the mid-seventies, where Lois volunteered regularly at Focus on the Family and Every Home for Christ. During her husband’s military career, they traveled extensively and enjoyed a wide variety of fascinating assignments (Florida; Japan; Michigan; Colorado Springs; The Hague, Netherlands; the Pentagon; Madagascar).

Lois persevered through her husband’s service in two diplomatic assignments and three wars (WWII, Korea, and Vietnam). Throughout the years of military service, she became a prolific artist working primarily in oil and learned to speak French for their assignment to the embassy in Tananarive. Lois is predeceased by her sister, May Muir Wormald and her husband of over 61 years, Roy.

She will be lovingly remembered by her son, James R. Jackson, daughter-in-law, Charlotte, granddaughter, Jessica K. Jackson, great granddaughter, Penelope Prince, grandson, David A. Jackson, grand daughter in-law, Joanna and niece Linda Wormald Peterson. Lois was a great-great aunt to 10 nieces and nephews who have fond memories of her: Kimberly Peterson Chidester, David Robert Peterson, Richard James Peterson, Mark Douglas Peterson, Sondra Peterson Childs, Diana Peterson Anderson, Michael John Peterson, Colleen Peterson Cowden, Annette Peterson Zarkou and Kathryn Peterson. A graveside, religious service will be held in Kenosha, WI.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Lois’ name can be made to Focus on the Family (www. focusonthefamily.com) and Every Home for Christ (www. ehc.org), both in Colorado Springs, CO.
